The ideal candidate to serve on one of the Mayor’s and City Advisory Commission should represent the diverse composition of the City of Philadelphia with regard to race, ethnicity, sexual orientation and gender identity, age, disability, and occupation. Members must be residents of the City of Philadelphia.
Interested applicants should keep in mind that members are expected attend monthly commission meetings, in addition to supporting and attending other meetings and events hosted by their Commissions or relevant to the communities their Commission serves. There is a four-hour monthly minimum commitment for serving on an advisory commission.
Commission members are given opportunities to learn about the Kenney Administration’s programs, policies and initiatives, and to share that information within their own communities. Members are also provided opportunities to weigh in on administration policies in an advisory capacity.
Commission members serve in a volunteer capacity and are not paid. Members serve at the pleasure of the Mayor or their appointing authorities.
